Mindfulness-based
Core Process Psychotherapy
Earth will be safe when we feel in ourselves enough safety.
Tich Nhat Hanh
Is something getting in the way?
Core Process Psychotherapy is a gentle but deep way of working that focuses on mindfulness in relationship and draws on inherent well-being in the present moment. Being right here, right now, in this body. From a place of resource and connection, we can become aware of what gets in the way of that.
Approach
A blend of eastern and western approaches, Core Process works to establish an ongoing relationship with the body-mind. This is more than a talking therapy.
Wounds that people carry often take place in relationship: personal, ancestral, cultural and environmental. The road I have walked, personally and professionally, offers a deeply somatic and resonance based listening to your being.
Trauma informed enquiry taps into a natural wisdom that we can rely upon, no matter what is happening in the world around us.
I completed Post Qualification training at the Karuna Institute, Devon, England in 2009. This led to a Masters Degree in Core Process Psychotherapy.
You can find out more about Core Process on the Karuna Institute’s website.
Working together
… a way of digesting the indigestible
Maura Sills
The quality of the relationship between you and your therapist or counsellor is central to working together successfully. It’s important to choose a person who feels right for you. You can trust your own inner sense about this.
We would therefore have a first meeting to see if we feel comfortable working together. It’s also an opportunity for you to consider what you want from therapy and raise any questions.
I’m based in Deeside near-ish Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland and offer both face to face and online psychotherapy sessions.

The session
We would work out how to go forward together and would commit to an initial block of sessions (usually six) with a review. Sessions are usually weekly, at the same time, and last for an hour. We can discuss this if you need something more flexible.
My enduring interest is supporting people to discover and express their essential wholeness, authenticity and truth.
